Rome Day 1

Rome was simply beautiful. Walking around the city full of ancient architecture and breathtaking artworks was certainly one of the highlights of our trip.  You could say that the city itself was like a museum. You could just feel the 3000 year old history and the greatness of the Roman empire in the air. It was so amazing to see all of the things the Romans accomplished way before the modern technology.

Here are my top 6 things to do in Rome:

  1. Visit the Colosseum (a must for everyone)
  2. Visit Trevi Fountain
  3. Go and see Vatican City
  4. Shop at Piazza di Spagna
  5. Eat some authentic Italian Food. (Pasta, Pizza, Gelato… take your pick)
  6. See the Pantheon

After a quick direct flight from Germany, we were in Rome. Because were all so hungry, the first thing we did was to eat. We opted for the traditional Italian pastas and let me tell you, they were ah-mazing!  rome_puje_lk-8rome_puje_lk-7rome_puje_lk-9 rome_puje_lk-18rome_puje_lk-10rome_puje_lk-20rome_puje_lk-19rome_puje_lk-21 rome_puje_lk-22

The infamous Trevi fountain. Sadly it was under construction when we visited, so I could not thrown in a coin. Maybe next time.rome_italy_puje_lk-14rome_italy_puje_lk-1 rome_italy_puje_lk-9rome_italy_puje_lk-15 rome_italy_puje_lk-16

Piazza di Spagna – or Spanish Steps

This square was full of shops to fit every budget. Its full of designer shops mixed with high street brands, and tiny streets filled with restaurants and gelato shops.
